The Blade and Soul online game has been around for a while now, and if you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months, it’s the Action MMORPG developed by NEXON. The game has a troubled history, including multiple server closures, but now the developers have settled on a single server with a new name: Blade and Soul Revolution. Can this game really be the revolution it’s promising, or is this just another failed MMORPG?
Blade and Soul is a video game developed by Korean developer Ntreev Soft and published by NCsoft. It is on the market currently on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Blade and Soul is a Action MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) or MMORPG for short. It also mixes both online and offline modes, so you can play the game at home or on the go with your friends.
We’ve already reviewed the original Blade and Soul this year. Here’s our review of Blade and Soul Revolution . While the original game was a different beast, this new version of Blade and Soul has more of the same, but also more of the different.
Netmarble is the publisher of the Blade and Soul Revolution game for Android and iOS. Let’s take a peek at this review of Blade & Soul Revolution.
Blade amp; Soul Revolution, Netmarble’s newest MMORPG, was just launched on the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store. Why does the game promise to be the ultimate MMORPG when it isn’t? That is something we shall discuss later in our review. We’ve been playing it for a while and are going to give you our honest opinion. If you’re considering investing your time in this game, it’s worth reading. So, let’s get this party started!
Review of Blade & Soul Revolution
Blade and Soul Revolution follows the typical mobile MMORPG principles, with the player first selecting a class. Multiple classes are available in the current edition of the game, which are divided into races. Kung Fu Master, Blade Master, Destroyer, and Force Master are the four classes. You will be given two character slots as a beginner, allowing you to create two characters on the same server. The character slots may be purchased later in the game’s store for the premium asset. It allows you to personalize your character; at the start of the game, you may choose from a variety of appearances and modifications. If you wish to alter it later, you’ll have to pay x1K crystals for an appearance change ticket.
Review of F2P vs. P2W
Blade amp; Soul Revolution, in our opinion, provides excellent value to gamers who invest real money. Players may purchase crystals with real money and use them to purchase items from the Equipment and Pet gachas. You may receive legendary or heroic tier items through the equipment gacha, which is difficult to manufacture as a f2p player. As a f2p player, the Pet gacha provides heroic pets, superior creatures that are difficult to get.
Aside from that, you may pay real money to buy premium bundles with unique goods that will provide you with a massive number of benefits and equipment that you can use to advance quicker or improve your character. The must-have starting bundle pack, for example, includes things that give you extra silver, EXP, and boost the pace at which items drop. You may also purchase high-quality equipment straight from the store with actual money – no gacha required.
As a f2p, you’ll have to work hard to get your hands on this. Players may create legendary, excellent, and heroic equipment. However, it would be difficult since the crafting costs are exorbitant – legendary gear costs approximately 10 million silver coins to make. You’ll also have to put forth some effort to get crafting supplies. For a f2p player, obtaining heroic and legendary gear is difficult.
We discovered that Blade amp; Soul Revolution is a freemium game, meaning that you may play it for free but the development will be sluggish – those who pay money can obtain the greatest stuff fast without having to play the game. You’ll need to locate the resources, grind the silver, and spend your time in order to outfit your character with stronger gear for battling big monsters.
Review of the Gameplay
The gameplay in Blade & Soul Revolution is largely automated, but you may turn off the auto-battle mode and play manually. You will almost certainly have to deactivate it in some of the battles since the AI does not always assist you. You’ll have to avoid opponent assaults and make good use of your character’s abilities.
You’ll begin by completing the primary missions, in which you’ll interact with NPCs, claim tasks, and gain EXP, money, and equipment to utilize in character development. As you progress through the levels, more game types become accessible to play, such as donation, dungeons, daily quests, clan missions, and so on.
There is a decent crafting system in place. You may make a variety of items, including equipment, potions, and costumes. When it comes to crafting, you’ll have to battle creatures since they drop things when you kill them. The map is massive, with many places containing various enemies and item drop rates.
It starts off simple, just like any other game. You will need to improve the character’s attack and defensive power as you go through the acts/chapters or missions. You may accomplish this by equipping gears, soul shields, leveling up, upgrading abilities, and many other methods.
The gameplay is average; it’s not terrible, but it’s not amazing either. Play manually if you want to have fun. Use auto-battle mode for AFK. The graphics and aesthetics are good, and the story’s cutscenes are fantastic. There are a variety of game types to choose from, including dungeons, PvP Arenas, Clan Dungeons, and more. Aside from that, you may concentrate on the chapters/acts, daily tasks, side-missions, and grinding creatures on the map.
Review of Monetization
Ads appear in the Blade and Soul Revolution game, and players may view them when purchasing chests from the store, including an equipment chest and a pet chest. It also has in-app purchases (IAPs), which allow you to purchase premium virtual currency (crystals) with real money (for gacha and items in the shop). You may also purchase bundles/packs with actual money, such as clothes, equipment, pets, and so on.
Final Thoughts
Blade and Soul Revolution gets a 3/5 rating from us. Highlights include: –
- Storyline, cutscenes, and excellent images and aesthetics
- The gameplay is adequate; auto-battle option is available, but it is ineffective later in the game. We had to fight the bosses manually after a while since the AI (auto-battle) couldn’t assist us much against strong monsters with enormous strength.
- You can acquire premium items and benefits by paying real money, thus it’s pay-to-win. You must grind as a free-to-play player (farm materials and craft)
- There are many game modes to choose from.
- Nothing off of the ordinary
