Corsair’s new Carbide Series Spec-04 is a mid-tower PC case with tempered glass side panels. The case comes in three colors, black, white, and blue.
The corsair carbide spec-05 fan setup is a review of the Corsair Carbide Series Spec-04 tempered glass. It also includes information on how to configure the fans on the case.
Corsair is one of the best, if not the best, computer case manufacturers. It offers many distinct series for each form factor, and the SPEC series is one of the most popular case series, consisting mostly of cheap cases priced about $50. Today, we will look at what the business has added to the SPEC-4 Glass that has been tempered case, which is the successor to the SPEC-03.

The Corsair Carbide SPEC-04 is available in a variety of colors, including Red, Yellow, White, and Grey, however the tempered glass version that I am reviewing is only available in Red. Except for the window panel, there is no change in the specifications of acrylic glass SPEC-04 and Tempered Glass SPEC-04. The latter, on the other hand, is heavier.
This case comes with a two-year guarantee from Corsair and is priced at $59.99, but it is now available for $54.99 on Amazon.
Unboxing
Because we see a fresh new product out of the box, unboxing is one of the greatest sensations. The case comes in a standard cardboard box with the case information on the sides.
The case was well-protected and well-packaged. Inside the package, there are two items: the case itself and the case manual. The tempered glass is additionally protected from severe scratches by a thin layer of plastic cover. It’s worth noting that tempered glass panels are resistant to small scratches, while acrylic panels are not.
Exterior
Despite the addition of a tempered glass side panel, the casing is still around a pound heavier than the original version. From the exterior, the case seems to be extremely elegant and attractive. When it comes to appearances, this $60 case is well worth the money. The red/black color scheme complements the majority of computer components on the market.
In the same way that most conventional tempered glass cases use four screws to attach the side panel, this case utilizes four screws to secure the tempered glass side panel. Due to the difficulties of manipulating the glass panel, this method is currently not being used in certain high-end PC cases. It is simple to remove, but one must ensure that the glass panel is not left without any screws on the side with no support, and that it is grabbed from the bottom while removing.
The front distinguishes it from the rest of the SPEC series. The previous SPEC series enclosures had a plain front panel but improved airflow. This case is great, however it has a modernistic style that makes it seem to be a “Gaming” case. The angular design is appealing, but since half of the front panel is covered in plastic, ventilation will be less efficient than in prior SPEC cases.
Instead of being on the front or top, the case front panel ports are on the right top side. There is no Reset button, just a Power button. There are two USB ports: one USB 2.0 port and one USB 3.0 port. There is a microphone and one headphone jack for audio. The hard drive LED, which is white, is located underneath them. It has extremely consistent illumination.
There are 7 PCI expansion slots on the rear of the chassis, as well as a slot for a single 120mm fan. There are two 120mm fan slots at the top. The material utilized in this case is of decent quality, but not exceptional. It is lightweight, yet its panels do not bend, making it dependable and durable.
Interior
After removing the side panels, you can view the interior of the case. It is, without a doubt, identical to prior SPEC instances and therefore nothing special. Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX, and ATX form factor motherboards, as well as standard power supply, are all supported by the case. You may put up to three hard drives in the hard drive cage. One of the hard drive cages has a tiny box containing the screws.
Here are some other options for you:- Best Mid-Tower Cases
There is one 120mm red-glow pre-installed fan in the front and no pre-installed fan in the back. As a result, you’ll need to get one for exhaust (Check out the Best PC Fans). Two additional 120mm fans may be installed at the top and two at the front. Inside the casing, it will produce a balanced airflow.
The support for the radiator inside is inadequate. Radiators may only be installed at the front or back, and they must be no more than 120mm in diameter. There is a dust filter at the bottom of the casing, which is extremely important, but there is none at the front. The front panel is simple to take off and is of excellent quality, since it does not bend.
Management of Cables
Behind the motherboard tray, cable management is adequate. The cables may be adjusted on the left side, which offers greater clearance than the motherboard tray. There are no rubber grommets, which you would anticipate with a $60 case. There are many routeing holes for appropriate cable routing, however connecting the CPU cable was the issue I had while constructing my friend’s Ryzen Gaming PC in it. There is a tiny hole on the top right, however it is not feasible to use it after fitting the motherboard. Even though I hadn’t seen it before, everything went well.
You may also put two SSDs at the top of the rear panel, which is a great way to make use of the vacant space, but you may lose some cable management clearance.
