I’m sure everyone has seen those slick videos from the Square Enix and PlatinumGames guys on how NieR: Automata came about, but I’m going to provide you with the early-on details on the game and how it came about. I’m going to skip the boring stuff and get right to the juicy bits–when PlatinumGames was approached for a collaboration with Square Enix for the NieR:Automata project, they were obviously pretty excited.
Japanese RPG developer and publisher Square Enix announced today that it has partnered with Platinum Games, one of the world’s top game developers, to create a new DLC pack for NieR: Automata. Titled Automata Playable Characters, the new NieR: Automata DLC will offer players the chance to take on the role of 2B, 9S and A2 from the game as they embark on an epic quest to destroy the Pods!
With NieR: Automata’s first DLC, “Despair” launching on August 29th, the second battle with the CEO of Square Enix and Platinum Games is about to begin. The DLC will take place in a post-apocalyptic “Despair” world where the machines have taken over, and the humans have lost all hope of survival. The DLC is set to launch for $9.99, and will include new story content, new weapons, new armor, new enemies, new bosses, and more.
NieR: Automata is a unique title. A game with a variety of interesting features that we recommend picking up over the summer. However, the first piece of DLC has been unveiled for those who want more from the game. It’s named “3C3C1D119440927,” which I think is a clever name. But what exactly is included in the DLC? Check out some gameplay video of the DLC from Gamespot below.
