SolSeraph Guide | is a guide for players which contains tips, hints, strategies and the latest news for SolSeraph players. The guide is split into two sections, one for the game itself, and one for the game’s community.
Hello there! My name is Garen. I’ve been playing and streaming SolForge since January 2013. I play virtually every day, and I’ve played in many tourneys. I will be writing weekly articles throughout my SolForge adventures, and I hope to help new players get better in the SolForge universe.
SolSeraph is a brand that specializes in gaming hardware, as well as a community that helps players find the best gear. SolSeraph also hosts, and maintains, an extensive wiki, with information on all the latest products.
ActRaiser was a fantastic SNES game that combined city-building with side-scrolling. Sol Seraph is the spiritual successor of ActRaiser, which was released 29 years ago (ActRaiser 2 was released in 1993, although many critics believe it wasn’t as excellent as the original). To summarize the game, you construct a city and play a tower defense map to unlock side scrolling portions that boost and strengthen your character (Helios), allowing you to take on a monster and completely liberate the region.
Getting a Better Understanding of How the Game Is Played
Sol Seraph follows a formula. It’s fairly simple to grasp the fundamental flow after you’ve gotten into the game’s rhythm. This is how it goes:
By finishing a side-scrolling map, you may unlock a zone.
You’re in tower defense mode after you’ve unlocked it. You must battle opponents in order to gather souls, which will allow you to enter hostile arenas. Once you’ve cleared the arena (there will be an initial spawn and another once you’ve cleared it), opponents will no longer spawn there. Workers = houses. You must make a decision.
Once you’ve conquered enough lairs, you’ll be able to face the boss map.
At any moment, you may climb to the global map and unlock new zones to battle in. Each zone typically opens a new mechanism or structure (for example, the desert unlocks wells), and as you go through the game, more buildings will become available. Everything you need will become available inside the map in which it is required.
Getting a Glimpse of the Tower Defense Game
The tower defense game isn’t too tough, and even if you lose, the level will be constantly reduced (per the game dev on Steam). The key thing to remember is that wood is a limited resource, and you may recover it by deleting structures, which is very useful.
Make sure you have defenses on all approaching lanes to win nearly every map. Enemies will continue spawn even if you destroy a lair. It’s preferable to construct everything closer to your town and then extend out, since this will provide you with a strong core defense. Garrisons and towers will be your primary defensive structures, and traps will relieve some of the strain on them.
You may extend your defense by building out to the other lairs when wood arrives, but don’t go too far. To recover energy, remember to utilize your powers (you may call a strong avatar that can relieve a lot of strain) and soar through clouds.
So here are some helpful hints:
- Because wood is scarce, there is a limit to how much you can construct in a zone.
- To collect as much wood as possible, you’ll need to move your wood workers about utilizing pathways.
- Closer nearer the campfire, the better.
- Food equals the number of employees you may employ.
- To dispel the fog and battle in the lair arena, you’ll need to build a temple (which needs X amount of souls).
Scrolling from the side
There isn’t a lot here, it’s all basically skill based. I suggest running through the level as fast as you can on the long maps. You’ll hit some stop points with dragons or other mini-bosses, but you run less risk of getting damage from the enemies who run through the background. Later stages with lots of ground traps make this strategy more difficult and require more intention as you move through the level.
Because you can’t swim, keep an eye on the water level. It just slows down your descent.
You may charge your weapon by using your shield to deflect fire and arrows (by holding the attack button). A back dodge is available, which is a little clumsy but helpful against bigger opponents who can slam their hands down. While utilizing the shield, you may back dodge.
As you battle lairs, which improve your health and mana pool, the overworld maps get difficult. You’ll get more abilities than simply the arrow as you advance through the game (which can shoot up).
You can die and revive at a checkpoint for full health and 3/4ths of your mana if you locate one.
The more you play, the more unlockables you get, and the easier the game gets overall. Simply avoid the overworld areas that are too difficult until later, when you will have more health, abilities, and mana.
Worst case scenario with this game, you can do like we did in 1990 – if it’s giving you too much trouble then whip out a game trainer and pretend like it’s a game genie all over again.
