Trails Of Cold Steel II: The Black Paladin & The Book of the Beginning (known as TOCS2 outside Japan) is the sequel to the highly acclaimed game of the same name, and by extension, a sequel to the first Trails of Cold Steel game. It is a tactical JRPG developed by Nihon Falcom and released for the PlayStation Portable. The story is set three years after the events of Trails of Cold Steel, and follows the main characters in their journey as they have to face off against new threats. With a battle system similar to the first game, Trails of Cold Steel II will feel familiar to fans of the first, while adding new elements to the RPG genre like a new character customization system and more technical card element.

The Legend Of Heroes Trails Of Cold Steel 2 (TOCS2) includes a lot of major narrative chapters to finish, all of which are divided into three Acts. Act 1, Act 2, and the Finale Act are the three acts in total. However, since there is also an Epilogue, it may be classified as four distinct Acts. However, the first two Acts of the game contain the most of the narrative.
