This is the first of a series of posts that will go into depth on the items you can find in Witcher 2. This first post will focus on the weapons, armor and other items in each category.
One of the best RPG games of all time is The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (or just Witcher 2). You play a Witcher, a monster hunter who works for the crown. You also have to do some side quests to get some money and to make sure that some people don’t get hurt. Every Witcher 2 player wants to have the best weapons, the best armor, and the best items. So, in this guide, I will show you all the best Witcher 2 items.
In this guide I will show you how to make your own special items in The Witcher 2, the best ones in the game, with detailed descriptions of the statistics. There are 2 types of items, Legendary and Rare. Legendary items have a higher chance to drop from monsters than Rare items, but both types are good.

Weapons, Armor, and Items (Chapter 1)
The finest swords in Chapter 1 may be purchased as soon as you get in Flotsam. Take both monster contacts off the notice board. Head to the woods outside of Lobinden and forge the basic Witcher’s SilverSword. To get some free starting gear, you may wish to start with the Indecent Proposal quest (see below).
Blade with a Jagged Edge (Steel Sword)
- 20–25 points of damage
- 2 Rune Slots
- Bleeding is increased by 19%.
- Craftable; purchase Schematic from a dwarf artisan in Flotsam.
Comments:
- 15 endrega teeth are required; they may be obtained by farming insect-like endrega that spawn in the forest outside of Flotsam (more spawn in the day for me).
- This sword is a beast thanks to its two rune slots and early attainability. Add two fire runes as soon as possible, and this will rip through human opponents in Chapter 2’s early stages. (See the Runes section for further information.)
Silver Sword of the Witcher
- 17–25 points of damage
- Slots for Runes: 1
- Bleeding at 12%
- +1 Adrenaline if you hit an adversary.
- Endrega Contract quest reward: Craftable, schematic reward
Comments:
- While completing the quest that grants you this weapon, you may conveniently harvest teeth for the jagged blade.
- Hints for the quest: go to the bookshop and purchase the book about Endregas (across from the dwarf craftsman in Flotsam). Simply enter your notebook and choose this as the current quest if you’re searching for where to get the reward.
Cutlass has a lot of power
- 15 to 21 points of damage
- Slots for Runes: 1
- 22 percent Poison, 22 percent Bleed
- Ruined Asylum, sidequest from Claws of Madness
Comments:
- After the second wraith battle, he was discovered in a lower level chamber.
- If you don’t want to farm Endrega teeth, this is a good option.
- At this level, dealing with wraiths may be difficult. Prepare yourself, and if possible, bring the Superb Silver Sword with you.
- Take note of the destructible hallway wall that follows this room-free fire rune!
Cutlass is fantastic.
- 16-23 points of damage
- 2 Rune Slots
- 16 percent of the time, you’ll be bleeding, and 22 percent of the time, you’ll be poisoned.
- Chest found in swamp cabin
Comments:
- The cottage lies near the destroyed Troll’s bridge in the southeast part of the swamp.
- By default, the hut is locked. The key is obtained by completing the Troll Trouble sidequest.
- To acquire the key, you must choose to aid the troll; grab it from the corpse of an NPC in the graveyard outside of Lobinden.
- It takes two battles against 4-5 human opponents to achieve this. Endrega teeth appeared to be simpler to farm, but it’s nice to have options, right?’
Armor of Astrogus
- +7 Damage Reduction
- Slots for Runes: 1
- Added 30 Vitality
- Magic damage is decreased by 2%.
- +14 percent Poison Resistance, +14 percent Bleed Resistance
- During the Indecent Proposal Quest, it was obtained from the Commandant’s Manor Storage.
Comments:
- When you arrive at Flotsam, the Indecent Proposal quest is instantly assigned to you.
- The armor lies in a chest behind the mansion, beyond the place where you sneak up to a window, in a storage room. If you’re caught by guards, you’ll miss it.
- It’s on our list since it’s free and you can acquire it fairly early without having to fight for it. If you pursue a particular narrative route, you’ll have a second opportunity to acquire it later on, but you’ll have better things by then.
Armor of the Hunter
- +10 Damage Reduction
- 3 Rune Slots
- Magical damage of 3% Reduced
- 30% Bleed, Incinerate, and Poison Resistance
- Obtainable as a schematic prize from a bridge Troll.
Comments:
- Available as soon as you arrive in Flotsam, with very little fighting needed.
- This is incredible since it has three rune slots. Purchase the Diamond Armor Reinforcements schematic from the Lobinden artisan and put in 3 for +16 armor. The remainder of Chapter 1 is a breeze after that.
- Troll Trouble (free DLC) should be available when you get at Flotsam (check the notice board). Although it isn’t technically part of the quest, completing it will indicate the troll’s position on your map.
- Talk to Zoltan in the inn after you’ve spoken with the troll. In Lobinden, you must win a certain item from a craftsman.
- To get the item, you must finish the Flotsam Dice Poker task. Play the gamblers on the inn’s lower floor first, then the dwarf bookshop owner (door across from the dwarf artisan), and finally the Lobinden craftsman.
- When you win, choose ‘I hear you build traps…’ as your prize, then select the item as your reward and return it to the troll.
Kayran’s Body Armor
- +9 Damage Reduction
- 3 Rune Slots
- Added 30 Vitality
- Magic damage is decreased by 5%.
- 30% Bleed, Incinerate, and Poison Resistance
- Kayran Boss provides the schematic and skin for this item.
Comments:
- This is incredible since it has three rune slots. Diamond Armor’s schematic is available for purchase.
- Plug in 3 for +15 armor reinforcements from the artisan in Lobinden. Unfortunately, the method necessitates the use of Robust Cloth and Hardened Leather, which may be inconvenient (see Crafting section.)
- It’s one of the rare armors with a hood. Some people may hate or even refuse to wear this armor because of its appearance, while others may like it.
- Unfortunately, the Hunter Armor, which is accessible later in the Chapter and is more costly to construct, outclasses this armor.
