In Torchlight 2, the game contains a hidden set of rare areas, not accessible in the normal game, let alone on the secret rare areas list. This list consists of a list of all the Torchlight 2 secret rare areas, and has been created by the Torchlight team to help players find these areas.
Most of the time, the first thing a player will do when they start a run of a Torchlight 2 map is head to the secret rare maps, as they are the most powerful, and the hardest to get. I will be listing the locations of the secret rare areas in the game. There are 21 different secret rare areas, and each rare area is only found in one of the 7 maps: Arcadia, The Ruined City, Muramata, The City of Villains, The Lost Temple, The Fallen City, and The City of Ancients.
If you are a fan of Torchlight 2, chances are you know everything there is to know about the game. But as with any game, there are a few areas that were overlooked or forgotten about, until now. This list includes every secret rare weapon, every secret rare item, and every secret rare area in the game, so you can maximize your chances of finding “the perfect item”. If you are looking for a particular type of item, you can narrow down the list with the “m” key while in the game.. Read more about torchlight 2 robot parts and let us know what you think.
Katrin has compiled a list of Torchlight 2’s hidden places.
Just a list of all the hidden / uncommon tiles I’ve found so far; if there are any I’ve missed, please let me know. (Also, if known, the proper names.)
To elaborate, TL2 generates random maps by using tiles. Some of them, such as overland set pieces or mini-dungeons, are uncommon and may not appear throughout a playthrough (unlike set dungeons / tiles, which are always present).
This is a list of the rares that are presently known.
Steppes of the Temple
- The teleport gem is held by a nearby champion; use it in front of the face to open a gateway to three chests.
- Tardis: I’m not sure how to open this, but considering the number of things that reference Doctor Who, I’m guessing it’s something…
Hills that have been frosted
- The Thing (Nordsk Leiren) is a tiny cavern containing a terrifying extraterrestrial monster… Keep an eye out for it; it’s lurking someplace.
The Wastelands of the Ossea
- Oasis: a huge pool of water surrounded by trees and flowers, as well as two hidden fishing holes
- Ambush at a Ruined Temple: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/110045216/Osse… mbush.webm (found by gfldex)
- Fill the basin with gold and pray for a reward (as found by Maligal).
- A dungeon with no NPC quest: an uncommon occurrence?
The Salt Flats
- Tundre… um, hairy thing beings Small region made out of shattered caravans / crates with a fire in the center surrounded by mobs. They are cut off from their main village.
- A dungeon with no NPC quest: an uncommon occurrence?
The Bogs of Blight
- It smells like a wet dog down there in the Reeking Cellar…
Battlefield in the Sun
- Notches’ Mine: Hsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
- Claptrap in the manner of Borderlands (rude to boot)
- Skyrim power stone (FUS DO RAH)
